Starting 15th April Microsoft 365 Business Voice [without calling plan] will be available worldwide. This add-on service will open up Microsoft’s Business Voice service to SMB while also offering them a choice of telecommunications provider.
Microsoft 365 Business Voice can be added to the following plans for up to 300 users:
- Office 365 Business Essentials
- Office 365 Business Premium
- A1, E1, A3, E3
- Microsoft 365 Business, A3, E3
Coinciding with this release, 6YS will also be releasing a new voice service – Teams Calling, an offering that is delivered from the COMMSPOINT UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) platform.
What is Business Voice?
Business Voice [without calling plan] unlocks the basic phone system functionality built into Office 365 and Teams, enabling consumers to choose a Teams-capable telecommunications provider such as 6YS to deliver their phone lines virtually into Microsoft Teams.
This allows Teams to function as anything from a simple soft phone to a fully fledged PBX replacement.
How much will it cost?
Business Voice [without calling plan] is slated to launch at US12 (AU$16.50 ex GST) per user per month. When comparing this price-point with the existing “Phone System” offering available as an Add-on to Office 365 E3 and included with E5, it is costed quite competitively.
Based on a USD comparison, a customer with Office 365 Business Premium plus the new Business Voice service will be paying US$20.50 / user /month. Meanwhile upgrading to E3 (currently the cheapest way to access the Phone System function) would cost US$28 / user / month.
Where can you buy it?
Microsoft are launching the new Business Voice [without calling plan] license as a CSP-only product. This means it can only be procured from Microsoft Office 365 CSP partners and not via direct/retail channels.
