April is becoming the “Month of Teams” with a significant number of new features coming this month. While some of these are simple Quality of Life improvements, others are more substantial.

The new raise hand feature in Teams allows meeting attendees to identify that they wish to speak by toggling the hand icon in the meeting control bar, making it easier to actively participate in meetings. Raise hand will be available initially for PC, Mac, and web-based clients. Support for mobile applications will follow.

With a number of education providers turning to Teams to provide virtual classrooms, it makes sense that we will begin to see more functionality that addresses this market. Even outside of the education space, however, it is our hope this new feature will significantly improve interactions in larger group meetings where getting a word in can prove problematic.

One thing is for sure, we will see more features like this coming hard and fast in the coming months.
